What are we doing at Inward Bound Colorado?
By slowing down and getting quiet the kids are taking the time to know themselves a little better.
We are helping kids connect with their true nature, their essence.
Through yoga, performance and small groups they are opening up their hearts. They are raising awareness of their body and their minds.
In this mindful environment they are learning how to focus, pay attention and be present.
Through art and small groups they are processing and digesting what arises from within throughout the day.
They are growing individually, and also together, learning about their interconnectedness.
We are creating a container for them to explore their true nature qualities and emotions- compassion, peace, love, happiness and joy.
We are providing a safe place and guiding them to work with emotions as they arise.
We are helping them become comfortable being seen as their true Selves. We are helping them develop the courage to let their lights shine out in this world.
As young people their layers of protection have not become so thick. They are precious human beings.
As teachers we have a big responsibility. Our influence on these young people can be very profound and the environment we generate needs to honor this.
The sacred container we create holds all of these intentions for the benefits of all these beings.
To be with others in this way – present and vulnerable, takes courage.
At Inward Bound Colorado we are planting the seeds for young people to embrace all of life and give them the tools to do so courageously.

Ashley is pleased to be returning for a second year to Inward Bound Colorado. She feels abundantly grateful to be able to marry her two passions, working with young people and playing with language, using poetry, introspective journaling, and art. She believes language can serve as a beautiful and safe outlet for young people to explore and navigate their internal experience. She aims to provide children with the tools as well as the freedom to explore who they are and accept that as a beautiful and natural thing. Ashley teaches middle school in Colorado and is a graduate of Naropa University Contemplative Masters Education program.
